MOP logo, vintage font

Vintage Gibson logos were cut by (free-)hand at Gibson´s plant, resulting in a variety of "fonts" when observed in detail as no template was used for cutting, there were a few skilled and experienced women who did this job.
Regarding the glue that was used for gluing the logo into the cavity it seems that fish-glue was used that was colored black using something like charcoal dust.
If you do not have access to charcoal you can use a wooden match that was burnt down and grined (or use activated carbon powder from your local pharmacy).

For serious repairs of vintage LPs we offer this well known logo:

This logo fits of course perfectly into the cavity that was routed using our headstock routing template.
