These old stock VIOLA tops come from the heritage of a German luthier who retired in 1970, wood dates back most probably to the early-mid 1960s.

- pre 1970 wood, European Spruce (picea abies) for VIOLA or MANDOLIN

- 50+ years airdried and ready to work with after acclimatisation in your workshop

- silk/"silver" (medullary rays) all over the plate

- no issues: what might look from the pics colored is caused by the long stocking
period and will sand off completely, resulting in an excellent and clean top.

While most are larger, all VIOLA tops have a minimum dimensions of 43 x 13,5 cm / 17 x 5.2 inch (work for f-style mandoline, too.)
