PUMICE, finest 4F grade, 150 gr. (5.2 oz)

Traditionally the pore filling before starting the French polishing process is done using finest Pumice. We have the finest 4F grade, sold in 150gr. packages (good for approx. 10+ full guitars).

When making a vintage correct LES PAUL replica you will need this finest pumice for mixing the oil based pore filler (additionally you will need NC lacquer and boiled linseed oil, both available from us, too).

Tip: Use pumice not heavily spread over the wood, this makes spots/"nests" on the wood consisting of pumice that is not mixed with shellac for working into the pores and you want it just in the pores. A properly done pore filling needs several courses with drying time between to fill the pores well, the better the preparation steps the better the final polishing result.

Use pumice moderate, evenly "dusted" (thin) over the part you are going to pore-fill, for me best for applying is the uasage of a salt shaker (filled with pumice).
