Fretboard Oil Stain, black "Ebony tune", 30 ml (1.01 oz)

"Ebony tune" is a custom blend oil stain that was designed to tune down any wood to a pure black ebony look.

We know of a customer who even used close pored walnut for an armrest and got a full ebony look using this oil stain. The reason for using walnut was that he had no ebony piece of sufficient dimension on hand, now he stopped using expensive ebony for the armrest and stays with walnut - and "Ebony tune". ;-)

Works great for turning a streaked ebony fretboard or bridge into a pure black board, you will not be able to detect that the board was stained.

Deep penetrating and little lasts long: a few drops are enough for a full fretboard, the 30ml (1.01 oz) bottle lasts long.
We strongly recommend to wear gloves when applying, as long as it is wet this stuff is a beast. The stain is oil based, so your (water based) sweat will not result in black finger tips.

Easy to work with: after final sanding jusst wipe on the wood, using a cloth or brush. Let dry and polish afterwards, for non-lacquered wood we recommend to use fretboard oil afterwards.

You can use this black stain for mixing with our "Rio tune" rosewood oil stain for getting an even darker touch of the rosewood stain.

Luthier tip: as it may be a bit difficult to get the holly headstock veneer of a Les Paul fully black using only vintage anilin dyes we recommend to use "Ebony tune" first, then going on with the regular finishing (anilin dyes for getting a black colored NC lacquer).
