1959-LP BODY template set

After long research and time for collecting the info reg. vintage specs and dimensions from vintage Les Paul´s we are happy to offer - according our knowledge - the first and yet only vintage-correct template set.

All data were collected over the past years by our friends from SavantGuitars and are based (among others) on personal info from Burst owners incl. Tom Wittrock and of course from numerous internet sources, that were carefully verified.

All templates are available individually, please ask if interested in an partial upgrade of your existing set from other source than ours.

For the serious replica maker we offer the templates in two sets at a discounted price: there is a "Body template set" and a "Neck template set", each of them containing several routing templates.

These templates are laser-cut to highest precision, material: 6mm birch-multiply

This BODY SET contains the following templates/parts:

1. outline template for routing the back cover recess and for routing the cavity for the humbucker legs, too

2. outline template for routing the main part of the numbucker and for routing the e-cavity as well as the cavity for the toggle switch.
A drill sized 3/8" for drilling the hole for the CTS pots you can find here.

3. half-body template for doing the long tenon rout into the body for the set neck as well as for doing the cable chanel (1/2" wide).
The truss rod slot is lengthwise oversized towards the hole for the toggle switch and reaches into the toggle switch cavity. This was done for adapting to other positions of the hole for the toggle cavity (in case you have used another template than ours for doing this), so you have to stop according your project.
The position for the 1/2" hole for the toggle switch shaft is pointed, too.

4. pickguard template (all holes for screws are positioned with a slightly undersized diameter so you can drill up easily according to the hardware you are going to use (US imperial or Asian/Euro metric).

5. template for the square Jackplate
Use 1.5mm white ABS for making the Jackplate you can find here.

6. template for both back covers (incl. holes positioned right)

7. SAVE: this set comes with a piece of 1.0mm white ABS for the output jack.
Save the costs for buying an expensive pickguard and Jackplate and make them yourself easily, using the routing templates that are included with this set.

Each body template has the (suggested) position for the bridge studs (based on the "old-rule-of-18" scale) and tailpiece bushings drilled.
At the top center of both large body templates you can find 2 holes above the neck pick-up: these you can use for screwing these templates down to the wood as this part of the guitar (incl. screw holes) will be later routed off when doing the tenon slot.

This set is good for making a full vintage correct 1959 Les Paul body, right for accepting the hardware of your choice (hardware not included): you can start your project right out of the box.
