Pre-French, deep penetrating oil sealer, 250ml (8.4 oz)

This ready-to-use mixed wood sealer was designed for preparing the wood before applying the French polish.
It´s based on a blend of our artist grade (boiled) linseed oil, finest terpentine and pure orange oil as well as desiccants.

Use it for sealing the wood at the beginning of the French polishing process before pore filling. The addition of 100% pure orange oil makes the blend penetrating the wood even deeper (and makes the sealer less "smelly"). Contained linseed oil acts as an organic UV protection, too.

It´s light brown color enhances the wood figure nicely, this sealer gives your French polish the "deep look" esp. on rosewoods, mahogany + Spanish cedar, maple and walnut (do not use on light colored spruce tops, using on WRC tops will remarkably darken the look).
Apart from enhancing the aestetics the sealed wood soakes less shellac (= quicker shellac build up).

Spread lengthwise onto the wood with a piece of damped cloth and wipe off the excess crosswise after some minutes "soaking time". Wood feels dry within some minutes, wait for 1 hour, then repeat if required.

Another advantage to the regular linseed-terpentine mix for sealing prior applying the shellac coate is the minimized drying time: after last application let dry overnight in a warm place and you are ready to go on - no more waiting for weeks till the (boiled) linseed oil has dried fully.

Little lasts long: usually 1-2 applications are sufficient, even the smallest 250ml bottle is good for sealing approx. 8-10 guitars (backs+sides + neck).

Do not use as fretboard oil (this oil is designed as a sealer and hardens by curing), as a cheap fretboard oil you can use (mineral) baby oil, but the best fretbaord oil is our custom blend, check the webshop for last.
