Oxalic acid, powder

Liquid Oxalic Acid is an excellent bleach for stained woods for luthier who want to egalize the wood before applying the finish.

Up for sale is a portion (approx. 40gr. / 13.3oz) of 99,6% pure oxalic acid powder for solving in 1 gallon warm tap water. You cannot do wrong with the ratio, just add slowly the powder to warm tap water and stir as long as the added powder sill solves. If the powder does not solve anymore you have reached the right (saturated) "ratio".
This way you can mix smaller quantities than 1 gallon.

Usage:
Apply on final sanded wood, right before starting the lacquering process. Make a liquid oxalic acid solution as described before and "paint" (apply) to the top the solution using a plastic brush (or metal-free foam brush). Let react and wash off after a few minutes the effected parts (top) for nutralization with (tap) water and dry. No sanding afterwards, just "breaking the hairs" is ok, then start the lacquering process as you are used to do.

CAUTION; Oxalic acid is harmfull - always wear gloves, eye protection and protection for your respiration organs (like lacquering mask).

Avoid any contact to metals.

For tose who have a boat: liquid oxalic acid is an excellent cleaner for all underwater parts, esp. for the GKF/Gel-coat (hull). All seeweeds and algaes can be easy removed after simple wetting with oxalic acid, using a high-pressure cleaner after a few minutes.
