For those who have limited time for their project or are limited regarding machinery equipment we offer now pre-processed LP style 1-piece necks according 1959 specs and materials.

Material is Honduran mahogany (swietenia macrophylla), your choice of following production stages:

1. "initial 17": four planed sides, width set to 2.25" for adding the ears in your workshop, 17degree headstock angle done, oversized in length and thickness; enough wood for the ears included.

2. "plus TRC done": additionally to the above work and materials the straight but tapered truss rod chanel was done according vintage specs (width: 3/16"), as well as the cavity for the truss rod nut has been drilled, ready for installing a truss rod in your workshop (truss rod not included); comes with separate maple filler strip.

3. "plus TR + filler strip installed ": additionally to the above work and materials (1. + 2.) a vintage style trussrod comes installed and the maple filler strip is glued in using vintage correct hot hide glue. Maple filler strip stands a bit proud off the surface for scraping down to the mahogany in your workshop.

4. "plus ears+holly on": additionally to the above work and materials (1. - 3.) the ears are glued on using hot hide glue, top of headstock sanded flat and the holly headstock veneer is glued on using hot hide glue, oversized "paddle-headstock" shape. The holly veneer above the truss rod cavity is opened undersized for final adapting in your workshop. Comes with a vintage correct nylon 6/6 nut (not installed, oversized).

5. "plus headstock shape": additionally to above work and materials (1. - 4.) a headstock shape is routed that is "legally close" to the vintage Gibson headstock shape. We respect of course that Gibson holds a copyright on the (style of the) moustache and so we do not rout the tip of the moustache but leave this part straight for your kind of non-protected headstock style (the rest is vintage 1959 headstock shape).
If you option for a full Gibson-style headstock you can do the little adaption easily in your workshop and as long as you are not making money from/with such a guitar this is no leagal issue, you are allowed do such for private purposes and fun.
The thickness of the headstock comes done slightly oversized to approx. 16mm for final sanding in your workshop.
Tuner holes are drilled (positioned) undersized using a small (2mm) drill bit.

6. "plus back": additionally to above work and materials (1. - 5.) the back of the neck is thicknessed to +1mm added to vintage thickness for final shaping in your workshop. Back of neck is tapered but not profiled and quite square for allowing all kind of backshapes.

7. "plus tenon": additionally to above work and materials (1. - 6.) the heel is thicknessed to (a hue above) 1.5" (38,1mm) and the tennon is being cut slightly oversized for final adaption according your project, set up at the neck-body transition (16th fret position) is for a 4.0degree neck angle, heel roughly shaped (oversized).
